REPLICABLE MODELS OF SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT
State Level Workshop
30, 31 July 2013, Thiruvananthapuram

We are happy to announce that a state level workshop will be conducted on 30th and 31st July 2013 in Thiruvananthapuram on replicable models of sustainable development. The main aim of the program is to give visibility to the numerous models created by the local governments as well as the VO/NGO fraternity. This is a joint venture of Kerala Grama Panchayat Association (KGPA), Kerala Voluntary Agencies League (KAVAL), Kerala Social Forum (KSSF), Santhigram and other VOs / NGOs. Participation is limited to selected 50 delegates from the three-tier Panchayats, VOs / NGOs and representatives of other government as well as non-governmental institutions. Honorable Ministers Rural Development, Local Self Governance and Social welfare have promised their participation in the program. Kerala Institute of Local Administration (KILA) has also extended their support.

- PRI / Grama Sabha strengthening
- Empowerment of women, children and other disadvantaged groups
- Agriculture and animal husbandry
- Importance of local resource for food security
- Health care
- Science and technology in the service of sustainable development
- Bio-diversity conservation
- Panchayat-VO/ NGO collaboration- possibilities
You are cordially invited to participate in this important program, which will highlight the success stories of strategies and methods employed in promoting sustainable local development by the PRIS as well as the VOs / NGOs in Kerala.
