WORLD WOMEN’S DAY: 30 SOCIAL ACTIVISTS HONORED
Thiruvananthapuram: 30 outstanding personalities in the field of women empowerment will be honored in the meeting to be organized at Souhridham hall, Karumkulam on 8th March as part of the year long celebrations in connection with the World women’s day celebrations, organized by five Grama panchayaths and nine NGOs in Thiruvananthapuram district.
The panchayaths include Poovar, Karumkulam, Kottukal, Kanjiramkulam and Venganoor Grama Panchayath and the NGOs include Santhigram, Thiruvananthapuram Social Service Society (TSSS), Loyola Poovar, Thiruvananthapuram Coastal Development Society (TCDS), Poovar Muslim Jama-ath Committee, Sthree Aikya Vedhi, Akshayasree, Adimalathura Social Welfare Association(ASWA) along with Kudumbasree and Poovar Grama panchayath Jagratha Samithi.
State level award will be given to nine outstanding women activists: Kanchana Mala B.P.Moideen Seva Mandir, Mukkam, Kozhikode (Snehadheepam), Annamma Devasya Alias Chediyamma (Vaidya Matha), Mercy Alexander, Sakhi, Thiruvananthapuram (Parivarthana Therali/ Change Maker), Sister Mythili, Neyyattinkara (Vidhya Dheepam), K. K. Lekshmi , Palakkad (Sevanadheepam), P. P. Selvi, Wayanad (Sannatha dheepam), B. R. Sivapriya, ICDS Supervisor (Shreshta Seva), Sunitha M S, Kazhakoottam (Sathputhri), Kottukal M.S. Jayaraj (Sath Puthran).
Others to be awarded include M. Navas, B Latha Pushpangathan, Elizabeth Jose, Nellimood Prabhakaran (Sevana Dheepam), Josaphy, Baby, Kamalamma Iriyimmanthura, Amala Shaji Pulluvila, Mahaboob Khan, Celin Silvadas Poovar (Parivarthana Dheepam), Pulluvila L. Thankam, Benroy A.S. Poovar, A Benjamin Irayimman thura, T. Valsala Paraniyam ( Vidhya dheepam), R.S.Suni ,Kanjiramkulam (Nava Vidhya Dheepam), G. Sreekumaran Nair, Kanjampazhinji (Karshaka Dheepam), K Mohanakumar Arumanoor (Krishi Dheepam), K.M. Kabeer Poovar (Snehadheepam), A. Sobhana, Vizhinjam (Karunya dheepam), C. Seema, Mahammooda, Poovar (Jeevadheepam).
The awards will be presented by Shobha Koshi, Chairperson, State Commission for Protection of Child rights, at the meeting during the meeting to be conducted from 2pm on 8th March.
